#Cortex Windows Updater

Windows update progress and copy now say Cortex Workspace, not Visual Studio Code.

#What's New

#One Model Picker

Cortex models now live in one picker with Auto, Premium, and Efficient. Rows show how much each model costs and sort cheapest first, then A–Z. On Free, premium models stay muted and show Upgrade.

#Files Stay with the Assistant

Files you drop onto Files, chat, or @ now land in the current Assistant, not a shared workspace folder. @ only lists that Assistant's files. Browser downloads go into the Assistant folder instead of your system Downloads.

#Split Panes, One Tab Strip

Open documents park in the titlebar across split views. Each pane keeps a caption so you can tell them apart and close a blank view. Close a split and the remaining editor fills the window.

• Right-click menus in files and chat are more compact
• Usage follows your premium allowance, with a clearer Free upgrade hint
• Skills catalog, Directory, and Automations read correctly in Chinese
• Empty windows put New Tab next to the sidebar toggle
• Every live split keeps a caption, including empty panes

• Fixed Quick Open sitting under parked tab labels
• Fixed titlebar buttons becoming unclickable after leaving fullscreen
• Fixed installed skills showing Update instead of Remove

#What's New

#Live HTML Pages

Cortex now lets you publish an HTML preview to an unlisted public link (live.withcortex.ai). Anyone with the URL can view the page — no sign-in, no public gallery. Republish to update the same link, or unpublish to take it down. Recipients can choose Edit in Cortex to open a local copy; that copy stays unpublished until they publish it themselves.

#Skill Sharing

Cortex now lets you share a skill with an unlisted link (skills.withcortex.ai). Recipients can install it without signing in. It lands in their Skills library; if a skill with the same name already exists, they can replace it, keep both, or cancel.

#Assistants Directory

Directory now works like a contact book: search, pin, keyboard navigation, a duty note on each Assistant, and restore of the last Assistant you had open.

#Stay Awake While a Task Is Running

Cortex now keeps your computer from idle-sleeping while a chat or agent task is in progress, so walking away no longer drops a long run. The display can still turn off; closing a laptop lid may still sleep.

• Narrow windows compress tabs instead of covering Community
• Creating an Assistant from onboarding matches the everyday sheet
• New files land in an Assistant folder or Cortex Home
• Interrupted updates resume and offer Retry when something fails

• Remaining screens follow your language across all 13 language packs
• Long-running commands can keep going in the background
